Utilita are registered on the B2G DPS, and can be contracted to deliver projects in partnership with Carbon3, with Utilita as Principal Designer and Carbon3 as Principal Contractor.  Any UK contracting authority can award any contract to Utilita to deliver any project or programme anywhere in the UK. and can do this in two ways: 

• via the DPS, by inviting Utilita to participate in a mini-competition, or directly appointing Utilita if they are the only suitable and/or available candidate (nb. buyers can shortlist based on a wide range of selection criteria including scale, reach and specialism etc); or 

• by assigning Utilita a contract directly in tandem with other planned works - eg. Clients may also be looking to contract a roofing specialist to deliver a Flat Roofing or Pitched Roofing programme, and co-ordinate the delivery of both projects at the same time. Clients can do this within the same procurement thanks to B2G's 'dynamic open framework' format.. 

B2G 'Dynamic Open Frameworks' 

Our 'dynamic open' format enables all or part of a project or programme to be assigned under the auspices of the B2G framework to a specialist registered on the B2G DPS (either directly or via mini-competition). The DPS registrant then contracts directly with the client for that element of the project/programme, and delivers it whilst fully adhering to the same standards set out in the framework terms. This has multiple benefits:

• clients can streamline interconnected programmes into a single procurement, 

• risk is correctly assigned and controlled within the supply chain;

• clients can access the best available and most suitable suppliers at all times, for every phase of a project; and

• clients can optimise and expand the supply chain and avoid the limitations of a 'closed shop' 

Clients are therefore able to contract directly with a flat roofing or pitched roofing contractor to manage and deliver their roofing programme, whilst specialist elements such as solar PV, where design & network connectivity are both complex and bespoke, can be assigned to a specialist like Utilita, who are better placed to manage those elements, both from a risk & commercial management perspectives.
